Unlock Huawei Modem with Customized Firmware

Customized Firmware is a firmware which was written to protect modem from unlocking. It blocks the pop up not to prompt for unlocking code and also blocks the code writer to write into modem. The firmware is also included an option to reset modem to locked status again after your modem is unplugged from PC.

To unlock Huawei Modem with Customized Firmware is not as easy as Normal Firmware.

Solution 1 : You must update the customized firmware with a Normal one ( rarely success). Then unlock it as normal.

Solution 2 : You need to run Huawei Temp Unlocking Application every time you plug your modem to PC. Just run and wait for several minutes, your modem will be unlocked.

Note : you must close you modem software before running Huawei Temp Unlocking Application.exe.

Guide how to use DC unlocker

DC unlocker is designed by DC-Unlocker team. The software is free of charge to download, but you have buy credit to unlock modem. Credit may be charged according to modem type. Here I only guide you how to use the software. Download DC Unlocker Client 1.00.0460 Here (No credit required).

Before starting DC Unlocker, insert your modem to your PC with an unaccepted SIM and let it completely run/install modem software. It may/may not prompt to ask for unlock code, just ignore it and close the modem software. Now you can start DC Unlocker.

1). First you must select your modem manufacturer name in Select Manufacturer drop down list.

2). In Select Model just leave Auto detect ( recommended).

3). Press Detect Card (The Loop) , DC Unlocker will detect you modem.

4). Press Unlocking tap, you will see Unlock button. Press it to unlock you modem.

PHS300 Unlock Guide

How to unlock Modem Prolink PHS300 :

Modem PHS300 is manufactured by Prolink and identical in hardware if compare to ZTE modem MF190, and they all are unlocked by DC unlocker. To unlock Prolink modem PHS300 is just simple, but need a trick.

Tested version which is successfully unlock PHS300 is DCUnlocker 2 Client 1.00.0460, you can find it here. See also guide how to use DCUnlocker.

You will not find Prolink in Select Manufacturer drop down list, so select ZTE Datacards ( that’s the trick).

Huawei Modem

Huawei is a famous GSM manufacturer from China, that is why there are a lot of tools to unlock Huawei modem. I will not describe all those tools here.

To unlock Huawei modem E1550, E1750, E153 and E173(without customized firmware), we need to download Universal Master Code.exe and ModemCode Writer.zip.

1). Run Universal Master Code and enter your 15 digits IMEI number of your modem, then generate for unlock code.

2). Plug your Huawei modem to PC with an unaccepted SIM and let it completely run/install modem software. If it prompt for unlock code, just enter the unlock code you got from Universal Master Code. If not, continue to step (3).

3). Close modem software and run Modem Code Writer.

4). Press Select Com Port    >> Press Detect    >> Accept

5). Press Unlock Modem and enter the Unlock code from Universal Master Code.

Your Huawei Modem is now unlocked.
